Real-World Trail Card — The Salt Line
Take this checklist to a real shore (the Meduso suggests the rocks by the old
watchtower, Torre de Sant Vicent, on the Benicàssim seafront — or any coast near you):
- ☐ Find the salt line — the mark the last high tide drew on rock or sand.
- ☐ Spot the green slippery rocks and cross on the dry grey ones instead.
- ☐ Sit still by a tide pool for 60 whole seconds. Count every living thing that moves.
- ☐ Listen at a rock crevice — count the seconds between waves. Is the sea calm or restless?
- ☐ Find one thing the sea carried in (shell, wood, sea glass). Invent its journey out loud.
Trail rules: bring your grown-up · watch the sea, never turn your back on waves ·
look and count, don't poke or take what's alive · everything goes back exactly where it lived.
Trail 002 — a high ridge in silence — is held by Cut
Short. His two tails were last seen above the pines of the Desert de les Palmes, with dark drops in the snow
behind him.
